St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering

Greetings! On behalf of the faculty members, staff, and students of the Department of Humanities & Sciences of St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Nagercoil, I welcome you all to the creative world of the Department.

The Department has a rich curriculum and allied activities to provide a comprehensive education for graduates. It prepares them to be technically well-off, to be critical thinkers, productive citizens, and leaders in a wide range of careers: government as well as an array of managerial options in the private sector. During their study, students complete rigorous programs of course work, participate in a variety of co-curricular programs like NCC, NSS, YRC and Sports. The Department correlates with seven undergraduate programmes, namely Computer Engineering and Engineering, Electronic and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Artificial Intelligent and Data Science.

A conducive atmosphere is culminated to enable the students to avail and reap maximum benefit of the resources and pool of amenities at their dispense. The Department has well-qualified and dedicated faculty as per the norms of AICTE/NBA to cater the needs of Freshmen. The Department fraternity also plays a pivotal role as mentor and counsels the students towards enriching them to enhance and excel with good academic performance.

The additional feature of the department is our Value education Program. This program helps the budding engineers to imbibe them with a sense of understanding for values and ethics; a commitment to law and morality; an appreciation of human creativity and an analytical inquisitive mind. It is our commitment to make our students ‘stand out among the crowd’ by not only being better professionals but also as better human beings.
