The Youth Red Cross is the most important constituent of its mother organization, Indian Red Cross. It is a group movement organized for student in Colleges and Technical institutions.
Dengue Awareness Program
A Dengue awareness program was conducted on 26-07-2017 for the students of our college. About 200 students participated in the program. was the Chief Guest of the program and she explained the ways and means of preventing Dengue fever. Rev.Fr.Dr.M.Maria Willam our Correspondent, felicitated the gathering. The program was organised by the NSS, NCC and YRC units of our college.
Independence Day
Independence Day was celebrated in our college premises on 15-08-2017. Our Correspondent Rev.Fr.Dr.M.Maria william hoisted the National Flag. Our Principal Dr.S.Joseph Sekar gave a special address on that occasion
Blood Donation awareness
A seminar in awareness of Blood Donation was conducted for the first year BE/B.Tech. Students on 02nd , and 03rd August 2017 in our College by the officials from YRC Dr.M.Vijayakumar, Programme Officer of YRC delivered a special talk to the participants
Deworming Day
Worm infections can cause anemia, malnourishment, impaired mental and physical development which may cause a serious threat to students, health, education, and productivity. According to a study, the infected students cannot concentrate on their studies and they find very hard to put up their daily activities. So our college Youth Red Cross in association with Tamil Nadu public Health Department organised a National Deworming Day on21 st August 2017 for the students in the age group of 17-19 around 496 albendazole tablets were distributed to the students for dewormed
Blood Donation Camp
A blood donation camp was conducted in our college on 21-09-2017 at Rock Hostel Auditorium. Our Correspondent Rev.Fr.Dr.M.Maria William inaugurated the camp. Our Principal Dr.S.Joseph Sekar appreciated the students for showing interest in donating blood. Dr.Carolin Geetha Medical Officer, Blood Bank, Kanyakumari Medical College Hospital, Nagercoil explained the conditions required for donating blood and the need of blood donation. 129 students and 5 staff members donated blood. The arrangements were done by YRC, NCC and NSS units of our college.
Trek
110 students and two staff members of our college went for trek at ponmalai on 11.11.2017.
AIDS Awareness
The YRC of our college conducted the AIDS Awareness programme for the first year’s on 30th of April 2018 as per the direction given from Anna University ,Chennai .Knowing the need to conduct such awareness programme for today’s generation. MsJ.Ani Herabin Princy counselor, Mobil ICTC,K.K.Dist were the resource persons, Were the highlights of the programme. I humbly apologize for not getting prior permission for conducting such programme
Blood Donation
Students and staff from our College donated 55 units of Blood to the poor and needy patients during the report year
Republic Day
