NSS Events Conducted during 2022-2023 (ODD)
ORIENTATION CAMP FOR LINKING VOTER ID WITH AADHAAR (07-09-2022)
An Orientation camp was arranged for students towards linking Aadhaar number with voter ID and was held on 07.09.2022, in association with the District Authorities of Kanyakumari District. This programme was arranged for second-year and third-year students. The Tahsildar gave instructions regarding linking voter id with Aadhaar using the smart and the students who have the voter id followed the steps and linked their voter id with Aadhaar. Around 700 students attended the orientation camp and got benefitted.
- INAUGURATION OF NON-PROFESSIONAL CELLS – NSS (24-09-2022)
The formal inauguration of the Non-professional cells of our Institution for the academic year 2022-23 was held on 24th September 2022. The Chief Guest was Mr. Aspren, Secretary of the Alumni Association. The Vice Principal and the Coordinator of Non-professional cells Dr. J. Christus Jeyasingh gave the introductory talk. Our Programme Officer Mr. L. G. X. Agnel Livingston introduced the office bearers of NSS for the academic year 2022-2023. The Principal Dr. J. Maheshwaran felicitated the gathering. The Correspondent Rev. Fr. Dr. M. Maria William inaugurated the function with his presidential address. The program came to an end with the national anthem.
- Awareness Seminar on “Scientific Temper” (29/10/2022)
The NSS units of St Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering have organized an awareness program for young volunteers on 29th Oct 2022. About 67 NSS volunteers actively participated in the seminar topic “Scientific Temper”. The chief guest of the day was Mr. Sasikumar (state executive member of the Tamil Nadu science forum). The aim of the seminar is to inculcate scientific thinking, appreciate scientific development and drive away superstitions.
- SWACHH BHARAT – CLEAN INDIA 2.0 (31/10/2022)
The NSS units (Unit-I 1383 and Unit-II 1384) of St Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering in association with NSS Units of St Lawrence Higher Secondary School, Madathattuvilai, Yettacode Higher Secondary School, Yettacode and Villukuri Town Panchayat has organized Clean India Mission 2.0 at Villukuri Town Panchayat Surroundings. Around 104 NSS volunteers of St Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, St Lawrence Higher Secondary Schooland Yettacode Higher Secondary School and 4 Programme Officers actively participated in the event. The volunteers actively participated in the fieldwork areas shown by the local Town Panchayat, Villukuri. The volunteers cleaned all possible Non-bio degradable wastes in the surrounding areas and collected around 400 kg of Plastic waste and handed them over to the local Town Panchayat, Villukuri. The Panchayat officers of Villukuri attended the campaign and appreciated our college NSS students with an appreciation certificate.
Clean India 2.0 Appreciation
- FIT INDIA 3.0 (12-11-2022)
The NSS units I and II of St Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering conducted a programme on the theme Fit India 3.0 on 12th November 2022. Around 49 NSS Volunteers of our NSS units actively participated in the event. The mission of the programme is to create awareness to bring out behavioral changes and move towards a more physically active lifestyle.
A drawing competition was conducted on the theme Fit India to enhance creativity and thoughts about fitness among students. One of the volunteers of our NSS units presented a seminar on the topic “Fit India”, with the view to making fitness an integral part of our daily lives.
Orientation Programme to School students – Govt. Model HSSS, Thucklay (06-01-2023)
The NSS units of St Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering have organized an Online Services Guidance orientation program for the school students of Government Model Higher Secondary School, Thuckalay on 6th Jan 2023. Our NSS volunteers actively participated and guided the school students.

NSS Events Conducted during 2022-2023 (EVEN)DATA COLLECTION WORK BY OUR NSS VOLUNTEERS IN PECHIPARAI AREA (20/02/2023 to 24/02/2023)
Data Collection work by our NSS volunteers from 20/02/2023 (Monday) to 24/02/2023 (Thursday) for the development of the Kani Tribal Community in six villages (Thottamalai, Thachamalai, Puravilai, Vilusarimalai, Maramalai, Ettamkuntu) in Pechiparai area, Thiruvattar block, Kanyakumari District in association with Association for Women’s Education and Development a non-profitable organization in promoting education, livelihood, health and sanitation for the Tribal Community supported by Linsi Foundation, Switzerland.
NSS SPECIAL CAMP 2022-23 (20.02.23 to 26.02.23)
A special camp for the year 2022-23 was conducted from 20-02-2023 to 26-02-2023 in the village ‘Vavarai’, Vilanvancode Taluk, Kanyakumari District. Around 100 NSS volunteers attended and performed NSS activities. Our Principal Dr. J. Maheshwaran inaugurated this programme. The NSS Volunteers actively participated in all the events individually and also as a group, thus improving their social and cultural skills.
- BLOOD DONATION CAMP (23-03-2023)
The YRC, NSS, and NCC of St.Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering conducted a blood donation camp at the ‘ROCK AUDITORIUM’ of St.Xaviers Catholic College of Engineering. The camp was organized by the Government Medical College Hospital, Aasaripallam. The camp started with a prayer song sung by the YRC Choir, Then the Blood donation event started under the guidance of Dr. R. Kaveri and the team (Dr. S.Dhanaprasanth & Dr. E.Hasini). Over 70+ people participated in the camp and donated their blood. Our NSS volunteers around 10 volunteers also donated their blood in the blood donation camp.
- ONE-DAY CAMP AND TREE PLANTATION DRIVE (01.04.2023)
Conducted one day camp and tree plantation drive at the college premises. Around 70 students participated.
- BEST NSS VOLUNTEER AWARD RECEIVED (28.04.2023)
Our NSS Volunteer Ms. W. Bency received the BEST NSS VOLUNTEER AWARD from the Honourable Minister Thiru. Udhayanidhi Stalin Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development of Tamil Nadu.
NSS Activities 2020-2021
On 21-06-2020, the international Yoga Day was celebrated. Several Yoga practices were done on that day.The yoga practices was done by volunteers in everyone’s home due to pandemic situation. On account of our 70th Republic day
Celebration, our NSS organized the celebration along with the NCC and YRC unit of our college. The cultural programmes were given by our NSS volunteers in the
theme of patriotism.On 26-01-2021 the NSS unit of our college visited an
orphanage. We provide lunch and necessary materials for the home.On 20-03-
2021, the NSS unit of our college, has conducted human chain to create awareness
on upcoming election.

college visited an orphanage. We provide lunch and necessary materials for the
home.On 20-09-2019 a blood donation camp was conducted in our college. The
camp was headed by our college correspondent Rev. Fr. Dr. M. Maria William.
Blood bank officers from Asaripallam Government Hospital and the team guided
the donors. About 125 students donated blood. On 01-10-2019 the NSS unit of our
college celebrated the NSS day.Various cultural programmes were given by the
NSS volunteers.The NSS Inagural function was conducted on 01-10-2019 .The
NSS unit of our college has planned to arrange 7 days special camp at
Manchakonam from 13-01-2020 to 19-01-2020.The NSSunit 1 and unit 2
programme officers Prof.S.M.R.Joseph Ramesh and Prof.F.John Paul organized
the camp. Nearly 100 NSS volunteers attended the camp.The NSS team striving to
work for the betterment of the village.The NSS unit has celebrated the Pongal on
14-01-2020 along with the people of Manchakonam.The NSS unit of our college
conducted Free General Medical Camp on 17 th January 2020 along with the
Shree Mookambika Medical College , Kulasekaram. On 14-02-2020 the NSS
unit of our college conducted Corona Virus Awareness Program with 100 NSS
volunteers.On 13-03_2020 the campus cleaning for our college was conducted.On
15-03-2020 the NSS unit of our college visited an orphanage.

NSS Activities 2018-2019
On 21-06-2018, the international Yoga Day was celebrated in our college.
Several Yoga practices were done on that day. On 26-07-2018 Campus cleaning of
our college was conducted. On 15-08-2018, the Independence Day celebration was
held in our college. After the formal meeting, various cultural programs were given
by our NSS volunteers. On 24.08.2018 the NSS unit of St. Xavier’s Catholic
College of Engineering celebrated the NSS Day in an elegant manner. The Chief
Guest of the function was Dr. Marsaline Beno, Head of the Department, EEE, St.
Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Chunkankadai. Various cultural
programmes were given by the NSS volunteers The NSS Inaugural function was
conducted on 01-10-2018. Our NSS Programme co-coordinator Prof. S.M.R.
Joseph Ramesh gave a short speech about the importance of NSS and the duty and
responsibility of a NSS candidate. Cultural programmes were put forth by NSS
leaders. On 13-10-2018 a blood donation camp was conducted in our college. The
camp was headed by our college correspondent Rev. Fr. Dr. M. Maria William.

from Asaripallam Government Hospital and the team guided the donors. The
instructions to the donors were given by the blood bank officers.

college of Engineering, Nagercoil. Various cultural programmes were given by the
NSS volunteers. NSS unit has celebrated pongal on 14-01-2018 along with Fine
Arts Club and tamil mandram of our college in a nearby village. On account of our
69th Republic day Celebration, our NSS unit organized the Republic Day
celebration on 26 th january 2018 along with the NCC and YRC unit of our college.
The cultural programmes were given by our NSS volunteers in the theme of
patriotism. The NSS unit of our college conducted a 7 days special camp at Neerodi from 06.02.2018 to 12.02.2018. The NSS unit I and unit II programme
officers Prof.S.M.R.Joseph Ramesh and Prof. John Paul organized the camp. 100
NSS volunteers attended the camp. The NSS team worked hard for the betterment
of that village. The NSS unit of our College conducted a Free General Medical
Camp on 8 th February 2018 along with the special camp with the support of a team
of doctors from sree mookambika Medical College, kulasekharam. On 17.03.2018,
the NSS unit of our college with 80 volunteers and two Programme Officers
visited Shanthi Aashram, Mukkadal.

NSS Activities 2016-2017
The inaugural function for the 2015-2016 batch was conducted on 11-08-2015.
On account of Independence Day (15-08-2015),the NSS volunteers arranged
the Independence Day celebration in our college.
NSS volunteers went to Santhi, an orphanage on 15-08-2015.
The NSS day celebration was conducted on (24-10-2015), several competition
were held for the NSS volunteers and also Gandhi Jayanthi celebration was
conducted on that day.
Our NSS volunteers were participated in the marathon on (22-08-2015)
A Dengue Awareness Campaign was held at our college premises on 10-12-
2015 and around 30 volunteers attended the campaign.
Our NSS volunteers organised Pongal day celebration(30-01-2015) on
Ambedhkar Nager. Republic Day was celebrated on 26-01-2016.
