INNOVATIONS BY THE FACULTY IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

The teaching learning processes followed by the faculties are listed below:

  • Each faculty prepares a course file for every subject and delivers the academic plan aligned with program outcomes.
  • Use of chalk & board, OHP, LCD projectors, and subject-related videos in teaching.
  • Encouraging students to deliver seminars and write assignments based on their potential.
  • Quality study materials are provided by faculty to enrich students’ knowledge.
  • Special training by academicians and industrial experts enhances subject understanding.
  • Industrial visits and in-plant trainings bridge the gap between theory and industry.
  • IQAC conducts classroom observations each semester as part of faculty teaching assessment.
  • Academic audit ensures continuous improvement in academic performance.
  • Faculty attend FDPs to update knowledge and improve teaching quality.
  • University exam result analysis helps in improving future outcomes.
  • Annual evaluation with awards/rewards motivates faculty excellence.
  • Special care is provided to slow learners through individual attention and mentoring.
  • Coaching classes for slow learners are conducted beyond regular hours.
  • Students are encouraged to participate in seminars, projects, and conferences.
  • Women's cell addresses gender-based concerns and promotes gender equality and awareness.
  • Advanced learners receive special coaching including GATE preparation and technical seminars.
  • Student-centric learning with professional/non-professional body involvement to align with industrial demands.
  • Well-equipped campus with Wi-Fi, e-journals, LCDs, and audio-video streaming supports learning.
  • Students are motivated to use NPTEL, internet resources, and access department and central libraries.
  • Technical fests are organized to promote self-motivation and confidence in students.
Teaching – Learning Processes

Various measures are being taken to improve the quality of teaching and learning process which helps students incorporate new knowledge, skills and behavior effectively.

Processes Followed to Improve the Quality of Teaching & Learning

A. Adherence to Academic Calendar:
The calendar is framed based on university schedule including class plans, exams, events, and holidays.

B. Instructional Methods and Pedagogical Initiatives:
Faculty prepare course plans, lecture notes, and use the following delivery methods:

  • Lecture Method and Interactive Learning: Use of blackboards, OHP, AV aids with student interaction.
  • Prototype/Pragmatic Learning: Models, research projects, and industrial visits enrich subject understanding.
  • Computer-Assisted Learning: Course materials via automation software, e-resources, simulations, and videos.
  • All classrooms are multimedia enabled with Wi-Fi and projector facilities.
  • Industry-aligned software training is provided.
Methodologies to Support Weak Students and Encourage Bright Students

Identification and Support for Weak Students:

  • Mentorship and class committee meetings help in identifying weak students.
  • Special coaching and vernacular language support are provided.

Encouragement for Bright Students:

  • Additional materials, placement training, and awards are given to high-performing students.
Quality of Classroom Teaching
  • Recap, context setting, real-world illustrations, simulations, and videos enhance comprehension.
  • Peer learning, quizzes, group discussions, and reiteration of topics are regularly used.
  • Faculty use journals and internet sources to prepare high-quality content.
Conduct of Experiments
  • Experiments are taught with hands-on instruction and safety procedures.
  • Lab records are maintained with evaluation and observation corrections.
  • Lab manuals are prepared and updated as per industry requirements.
  • Regular maintenance and calibration of equipment ensure quality lab sessions.
Continuous Lab Assessment
  • Students are assessed on lab performance, observation, and records.
  • Model exams help in evaluating practical knowledge.
Feedback and Action Mechanism
  • Personal and systematic feedback is collected mid and end semester through automation software.
  • Class committee meetings, mentoring, HOD interactions, and parent feedback form part of the system.
  • Feedback is analyzed and corrective measures are taken for improvement.
  • Course file includes all documentation and is verified by HOD and IQAC.
