Men's Hostel

St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering hostel is established to provide residential facilities with a homely atmosphere for the deserving students studying in the institutions managed by our management. This hostel has a capacity to accommodate 200 students and is situated in close proximity to the college.

Boys Hostel

Women's Hostel

A women's hostel with a capacity of 180 students is constructed at close quarters to the college. Students desirous of staying in the hostels should express their option to stay in the hostel in the prescribed form. The option forms should be handed over to the warden.

Girls Hostel

General Rules and Regulations - College Hostel

  1. Admission & Allotment
    • Hostel accommodation is allotted only to bonafide students of the college.
    • Room allotment is carried out by the administration annually and is strictly non-transferable.
    • Students must report to the hostel on the date specified by the administration.
  2. Conduct and Discipline
    • Students must maintain discipline and decorum at all times.
    • Ragging is strictly prohibited and punishable under law.
    • Use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco in any form is strictly banned.
    • Inappropriate behaviour, loud music, or public disturbances are not tolerated.
    • All students are expected to maintain a proper dress code at all times.
  3. Timings
    • Study hours must be observed as scheduled - 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
    • Windows and doors must be kept open during study hours.
    • Hostel gates will be closed by 6:30 PM.
    • Late entry requires prior written permission from the warden.
  4. Cleanliness and Hygiene
    • Students must keep their rooms and surroundings neat and clean.
    • Wet clothes must be placed in the designated drying areas.
    • Dustbins should be used properly and waste must be disposed of regularly.
    • All footwear must be properly placed in the assigned shoe racks.
    • Bathrooms and toilets must be used responsibly to maintain hygiene.
  5. Safety and Security
    • Students are not allowed to leave the hostel without prior permission.
    • Visitors/Parents can meet students during designated visiting hours only (4:30 PM to 6:00 PM on working days and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on holidays).
    • No outsiders are allowed to stay in hostel rooms under any circumstances.
    • No outsiders (day scholars) are allowed to enter the hostel premises without prior permission.
    • Hostel students are not permitted to stay in the hostel during working hours without prior permission.
    • Students must carry their ID cards when leaving the hostel premises.
  6. Electrical and Electronic Items
    • Use of heaters, irons, and high-power electrical appliances is not allowed inside the personal rooms.
    • Students must switch off lights and fans when not in use.
    • Internet and Wi-Fi should be used only for academic purposes.
  7. Mess Rules
    • Students should dine in the designated mess area only.
    • Wastage of food is discouraged.
    • Timely attendance for meals must be maintained.
    • Meal Timings:
      • Breakfast: 8.00 am - 8.30 am
      • Lunch: 12:15 pm – 1:00 pm [As per College Time Table]
      • Tea: 4:15 pm - 4:45 pm
      • Dinner: 8.00 pm - 9.00 pm
    • To maintain cleanliness, security, and discipline within the hostel premises, ordering food from external online vendors (such as Swiggy, Zomato, Uber Eats, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
    • Complaints regarding food should be addressed to the management through the Deputy Warden.
  8. Prohibited Items
    • Weapons, inflammable items, and banned substances are strictly forbidden.
    • Posters, writings, or slogans on hostel walls and furniture are not allowed.
  9. Hostel Leave Sanction Rules
    • During Working Days (Academic Days):
      • Leave requests must be submitted in writing and approved in the following order:
        1. Deputy Warden – Confirmation from parent
        2. Mentor / Class Advisor
        3. HOD
        4. Principal [Chief Warden]
        5. Correspondent [Warden]
      • Only after obtaining all the above approvals, leave will be granted.
    • During Holidays / Non-Academic Days:
      • Leave may be sanctioned by the Warden through the Deputy Warden.
    • Additional Guidelines:
      • Emergency leave must be reported immediately to the mentor and the Warden through the Deputy Warden.
      • Students must provide valid reasons and contact details during leave.
      • Unauthorized absence may lead to disciplinary action.
  10. Leave and Outings
    • Students must obtain written permission from the Warden for overnight or outstation leave.
    • Gate Register must be signed while going out and returning.
  11. Damage and Penalty
    • Any damage to hostel property (furniture, walls, fixtures) must be reported immediately.
    • Cost of repair or replacement will be charged to the student(s) responsible.
  12. Notice Board and Communication
    • Students are expected to check the notice board regularly for updates.
    • Important announcements and schedules will be communicated through official channels only.
  13. Celebrations
    • Any celebrations (religious, cultural, or Hostel Day) are permitted only with the prior approval of the Chief Warden and the Warden.
  14. Note: Non-compliance with any of the above rules may lead to disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the hostel.
