M.E. - Energy Engineering

This course deals with the concepts of green buildings applicable to modern buildings. It covers the principle theories, materials, construction techniques and to create energy efficient buildings for a sustainable future.

This course analyze the working principle, pros and cons of Conventional energy conversion techniques, Direct energy conversion systems and moreover deals with the need and necessity of energy storage systems and their desirable characteristics & Fuel cells

The course is divided into four parts, the first deals with the basic and analysis of the energy systems. The second part deals with the modeling and simulation of the energy systems. This gives the idea about converting a physical model to a numerical model. The third part deals with the optimization of the model. The fourth section deals with the application of the modeled system to the physical systems and the case studies.

The course aims

  • To learn the present energy scenario and the need for energy conservation
  • To understand the monitoring / targeting aspects of Energy
  • To study the different measures for energy conservation and financial implications of various thermal utilities

Impart knowledge on Conventional Power Plants ( Steam, Hydro, Nuclear and Gas Turbine plants) and Renewable Energy Power generation.
