About us ISHRAE is the acronym of Indian Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. ISHRAE was founded during 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC & R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) professionals with the main objective to “Promote and Disseminate Technical Knowledge in the fields of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning”. ISHRAE is an International associate of ASHRAE which stands for American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. The Chennai chapter was founded in 1989. The ISHRAE Students Chapter in our college was started during the year 2009-2010. Initially the student’s chapter was attached to the ISHRAE Chennai Chapter and in 2017 it was attached to ISHRAE Madurai Chapter. ISHRAE has been organizing seminars/lectures on various topics. The association with ISHRAE offers a student to associate himself/herself with an elite group of HVAC industry fraternity. In the HVAC industry parlance, it is often said that there is a short supply of competent personnel to design, plan and execute expensive HVAC projects and ISHRAE students chapter tries to address this gap by giving exposure to interested candidates in cutting edge technologies through seminars, workshops, in plant trainings and industrial visits
