  • Women cell had its Inaugural ceremony on 20-11-2021 at the Conference Hall, SXCCE.
  • A Health Awareness programme was conducted in 14.12.2021 at the Seminar Hall, EEE Department by Dr.Mohammed Nowfel, Life care research Centre, Nagercoil. About 85 students attended the programme.
  • On 8.3.2022, a virtual seminar on Women Empowerment was conducted by Ms.Deepa Maheshwaran to enrich our students in self dependency.
  • Women’s day celebration with the theme “Break the Bias” was held on 10-03-2022 with Mrs.Mabel Samson, Nutor (Former), Jaya Sekharan Medical Trust and Hospital as Chief guest. Ms.Gayathri Sadhana, Final IT, was honored with Best Female Student Award.
  • In view of women's day celebration various competitions were conducted for women students on 05-03-2022 in online mode. The list of events are shared below:

  • It is planned to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8-03-2022. On that Day, the best women outgoing student award was given to an outperforming final year student in academic and extracurricular activities for the academic year 2021-2022.

Ms.Gayathri Sadhana, Final IT, was honored with Best Female Student Award.

  • ICT Academy associated with our Institution in the implementation of the DXC Technology CSR Initiative “Women Empowerment Program” in Java Programming for all final year girl students of our College is successfully implemented. It is included with three modules, namely, Soft skill module, Foundation skill module and Technical skill module. Around 94 students completed all the modules and they are given with placement opportunities in reputed companies like XIPHIAS Software Technologies Private Limited, Payoda Technologies, Royal Cyber Inc., Net Access(India) Limited, Bahwan Cyber Tek, Ramco Systems, Bristlecone, Tata Elxsi, etc. Y.R.Annie Bessant, Assistant Prof, Dept. of ECE and Ms.T.S.Sheela Shiney, Assistant Prof, Dept. of CSE are the mentors of the Program and Dr.T.Latha, Assoc.Prof, Dept. of ECE was the Co-ordinator for the program.

  • Women Cell organized Webinar on Life hacks for stress management on 17-10-20 by Kurinji Amalavathy, HOD, Dept. of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Satyabhama Dental College and Hospital, Chennai.

 

  • Women cell had its Inaugural ceremony on 19-10-2020 through online mode.
  • Women cell organized International Quiz competitions for all pre-final year women students in our college from 11-01-2021 to 15-01-2021 about Legal rights of Women.
  • Women cell organized Webinar on Calm and Confidence: Managing Tough Times -21.01.2021 by Indrapriyadharsini, Associate Professor, Dept. of Oral Pathology and Oral Microbiology, Vinayaga Missions Sankaracharyas Dental College, Salem.
  • Women’s day celebration with the theme “Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal future in a Covid-19 world” was held on 8-03-2021 by with R.Leema Rose, Ex MLA, Thiruvattar Constituency as chief guest.

  • ICT Academy has associated with our Institution in the implementation of the DXC Technology CSR Initiative “Women Empowerment Program” in Java Programming. Hence it is planned to conduct “Women Empowerment Program” for all the pre final year girl students of our College. A total of 105 students have registered. Dr.Y.R.Annie Bessant, Assistant Prof, Dept. of ECE and Ms.T.S.Sheela Shiney, Assistant Prof, Dept. of CSE are the mentors of the Program and Dr.T.Latha, Assoc.Prof, Dept. of ECE is the Coordinator for the program.
  • ICT Academy in association with DXC Technology has organized “Women empower summit 2021” live on 08 March 2021.
  • “Mentor Orientation Program” held on 4th March by ICT Academy in association with DXC Technology.

  • The inauguration of cell for the academic year 2019-20 was conducted on 27.9.2019 with Dr.S.Raja Kumari, Assistant Professor, Malankara Catholic College as the Chief Guest.
  • The staff and student members of the women cell attended a rally from Manali to Thuckalay, Brutality against women, organized by Women Federation, Kuzhithurai Diocese on 25.11.2019.
  • Our women cell conducted “Awareness Program on Legal Literacy” on 14.02.2020 and around 150 students attended it.
  • Another awareness program on Cancer was conducted on 29.2.2020 by KIDS, Kuzhithurai for our students.
  • We celebrated the Women’s Day on 6th March 2020. Mrs.Parimala Selvi, Director, Parimala Personality Development Centre, Nagercoil was the Chief Guest. On that day, the Best Female Student Award was honored to Ms.W.M.Eldon Venisha of Final year Civil Engineering.

2018-2019

  • On 08.09.2018, an awareness programme on Human Rights was conducted by John R.D.Santosam, B.A.,B.L., Chairman Permanent Lok Adalt,FAC Sessions Judge, KK, Nagercoil. About 150 students and 10 staff members attended the programme.
  • An awareness programme, Gender sensitization was conducted on 11.10.2018 by Er. Jeyaram to know the values - both male and female, 510 participants got benefitted.
  • International women’s Day was conducted on 08.03.2019. A. Antony Sinduja was honored with Best Female student award.

2017-2018

  • On 21.8.2017, a motivation program was conducted to girl students to know their hidden talents and to stimulate to fix the goal by Ms.Y.R.Annie Bessant, and about 45 participants including 5 staff attended the programme.
  • Awareness programmes were conducted on 24.8.2017, 29.8.2017, 30.8.2017 and 1.9.2017 by our faculty Ms.S.V.Kayal Vizhi, Ms.Sheela Shiny, Ms.Jasmine Suguna to make the students to know their talents and excel in it.
  • A value added course, ‘Leadership quality’ was conducted on 27.9.2017 by Dr.Leema Rose, Professor, Jerome's college of arts and science. About 44 students and 11 staff attended the programme.
  • An awareness competition for Gender Equality was conducted on 8.11.2017 by our Faculty Prof.Kayalvizhi, Prof.Sheela Balenta, Prof.Jessy Mol, Prof.Annie Bessant, Prof.Sheraphin Sujitha to know the knowledge of Legal Laws. About 347 participants attended the programme.
  • On 25.11.2017, a rally was conducted from Manali to Thuckalay to raise the voice of brutality against the women compaign. Around 61 participants including 8 staff attended the rally.
  • Women’s Day was celebrated on 12.3.2018 and Miss.Hairunnisha, HOD and Vice Principal, Muslim Arts college, Thiruvithankode was the chief guest.
  • An orphanage visit to Leprasy Home, Kanya kumari was held on 17.3.2018.

 

2016-2017

  • Nine awareness programmes for the first year BE and ME, MCA students about health and hygiene, goal setting, food habits, self confidence, relationship, motivational aspects, tips to be a successful woman were conducted by Faculty, SXCCE, on 12th, 17th, 18th,  22th August 2016 and 2th,12th September 2016.
  • On 25.11.2016, many students attended the rally from Manali to Thuckakay, in the Brutality against Women compaign.
  • On 20.1.2017, Ms.Jerusha.J attended a workshop to know the interrelationship between medicine and engineering at Annammal Nursing College,Kuzhithurai.
  • On 28.1.2017, a seminar about Cancer awareness and healthy life was attended by many student members of Women’s cell.
  • Sharon Trafeena Mathias received the Kalarishi 2017 award and district level trophy on 10.3.2017.
  • A debate was conducted by Amsi Anil kumar, Kumari Muthamil Mantam, Nagercoil on 8.4.2017. About 280 participants attended the debate.
  • An awareness programme to enrich the self confidence was conducted by Dr.Merry Geisa, SXCCE on 8.4.2017. About 65 students got benefitted.
