MSME Host Institute (HI) programs aim to nurture innovation and growth in the MSME sector by providing business incubation and support, leading to the development of commercially viable and sustainable businesses. This includes nurturing ideas, promoting technology adoption, and facilitating access to resources and expertise.

St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering is a host institute for MSME. Its mission is to promote the growth and development of micro and small enterprises based on the resources that are native to Kanyakumari district including industries related to coir products, food processing, food preservation, and also farming methods, municipal waste processing and Khadi industries. In its quest to woo in more candidates with creative ideas, it organizes awareness programs periodically. It also supports the cause of MSME by shortlisting the ideas received during Idea Hackathons by constituting a panel of experts from different domains. It leaves no stone unturned to develop the local economy by capitalizing on the creating ideas of the college students and public at large by creating an environment conducive for startups by giving them training and technical support
